It is understood the high-performance glider they were in crashed through a fence on a farm in Bloemfontein.
The men, both in their 50s, needed life support "intervention" following the accident just north of Tempe Airport.
One man was airlifted to hospital while the other was transported by road ambulance, road safety website Arrive Alive reported.
Authorities are investigating the shocking crash, which is reported to have happened at 2pm local time.
